Paul Oxley

Paul Oxley

Director of External Affairs , ADS Group

Paul Oxley joined ADS Group, the trade association representing the UK’s aerospace, defence, security and space sectors, as External Affairs Director in July 2022. His department is responsible for ADS’s policy, public affairs, international relations, communications and marketing functions.

Paul graduated from the University of Kent in 2007 with a degree in Law, Politics and International Relations. With a keen interest in current affairs he started his career working in Westminster for three Members of Parliament across various research, communications and campaigning roles.

Following several years in Westminster Paul worked within the rail industry in public relations, stakeholder engagement and policy roles for several rail operators and finally for the safety and standards legal body. It was in these roles that Paul developed his passion for community engagements and corporate social responsibility initiatives. One of his initiatives, an anti-child bullying campaign, won a national award for community service.

As part of Paul’s role at ADS Group he is responsible for all skills and workforce shortage initiatives. This includes the creation of industry initiatives to address recruitment challenges and engagement with both national and devolved governments on reforms that would better support industry to recruit for the workforce of tomorrow.

Paul lives in Essex with his wife and two sons.
