Tony is the Founder and Director of MAIAR limited, a disruptive SME with a strong pedigree in Defence, and an increasing offer across National Security and ‘Whole of Government’.

Following a successful 23-year career in the Royal Air Force, Tony now has over 15 years’ experience in Defence industry via two SMEs and two large international Defence Primes. He is highly experienced in helping government adopt new capabilities, managing assurance of bringing new systems and tools into service, and supporting the business change and improved user experiences.

Tony is an experienced intelligence practitioner, with expertise not only in Defence environments and programmes but with over 3 years’ immersion in the arena of commercial satellite imagery and remote sensing. Tony is conducting MSc research through the University of Lincoln into “Innovation in ISR” with a specific focus on the barriers to adoption of commercial capabilities. This includes data provision, analytics, the application of AI and how these are all impacted by policy, governance, commercial processes and risk appetite.

Tony is committed to growing MAIAR and opening up the portfolio beyond Defence to National Security, whole of Government, NATO, Nations and commercial entities. Away from work, Tony is an avid park runner, having taken part in events across 5 countries, over 100 different locations and 250 runs.
